Celebrate the wackiness in every family with our best-selling Broadway musical adapted for middle school-age performers! Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
THE ADDAMS FAMILY Young@Part® is the authorized 60-minute edition of the Broadway musical for elementary and middle schools, and youth theatres. The Young@Part® musicals are carefully crafted through a series of workshops with industry professionals and young performers. Song keys are adjusted where necessary, and songs and scenes are edited for time and content, all while preserving the essence of the original Broadway production.
The Addams Family is part of our STAR (Summer Theater Arts Review) program, which proudly celebrates its 10th season this year! Over the past decade, STAR has grown into a vibrant platform for young performers to develop their skills, take creative risks, and build lasting friendships through theater.
This production features students who have just completed grades 6 through 11. Some have been with us for several summers, growing into confident and dynamic performers. Others are new to the program, bringing fresh perspective and fearless energy to the stage. Together, they’ve embraced the weird, the witty, and the wonderfully macabre spirit of The Addams Family with talent and enthusiasm that truly shines.
We are incredibly proud of this cast—their dedication, teamwork, and bold choices have made this process a memorable one.
